Medication Management

Low Country Counseling offers Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management Services for children and adults. Help is available for those seeking Mental Health treatment for Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Postpartum Support, consultation for ADHD, and other emotional or behavioral concerns.

We are a Recovery-Oriented practice with a specialization in Substance Use Disorders. Our practitioners are mindful of occurrences of Dual Diagnoses and work through this lens during evaluation.

“Dual Diagnosis” means that some people have both Mental Health conditions, such as panic, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc., and also a Substance Use Disorder, including Alcoholism. Our practitioners focus on best practices to deliver treatment that supports anyone in recovery of an addiction.

Intake appointments occur prior to a Psychiatric Evaluation to screen for risk factors such as addiction, eating disorders, self-harm, developmental concerns for children, and Postpartum Anxiety, Depression, or Psychosis. Screening is conducted in an effort to promote optimal Mental Health and safety.

Psychiatric care works best in conjunction with counseling and can optimize coping skills, stabilization, and emotional work done in therapy sessions. ** An intake appointment for an Assessment is needed prior to meeting with Ashley Lewis to help the prescriber make informed decisions for your care.

*** Our practice DOES NOT provide prescriptions for controlled substances. For patients with ADHD, our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with your Primary Care Doctor or Pediatrician for these medications. Please make sure your doctor will prescribe controlled substances prior to scheduling an appointment for ADHD evaluation and treatment.
