Monthly groups held for all community members wanting help for their own use or help for a loved one. Topics will vary each month and are designed to reach those actively using, early recovery, “Stage 2” recovery, family members, parents of teens, and parents of adult children in active use. May 30 Addiction 411- Info Session: Addiction Resources
Learn of the various resources available for anyone impacted by addiction. Resources will include free ones within our community as well as places that offer help for addiction recovery. Whether you would like information for yourself or for a loved one, all are welcome to share, learn, and ask questions in a safe, confidential setting.
June 27 Addiction 411- Early Recovery: Day to Day Challenges
Join others who are also new to recovery and learning the ropes of living a sober life. Group will cover the day to day behaviors, activities, and interactions with others that may feel confusing or overwhelming in early recovery. All are welcome to ask questions and share experiences in a private, safe setting.
July 25 Addiction 411- “Stage 2” Recovery: Dealing With Shame
You’ve gotten the hang of living a sober life worth living. Now you may feel ready to go to the next level of healing by digging deeper. Join us for a safe, confidential night of sharing and discussing what it means to enter this phase of your recovery.
August 22 Addiction 411- Info Session for Family & Loved Ones
Info session for those who love someone active in their use. This group is for you if you’re losing sleep at night out of fear or worry for your loved one. Learn the basics of what to do to best support you and your loved one as well as resources available. Join us for a safe, confidential night of sharing and asking any questions you need answered.
September 26 Addiction 411- The “Good, Better, Best” Approach For Helping Your Teen
Parents: Navigating the teen years has its challenges. The pressures of drinking and drug use added to those challenges can lead to lots of fears and tension at home. Learn various ways to approach this matter: from the basics of talking to your teen about drinking and drug use all the way to knowing when and how to intervene if your teen needs help. Join us for a confidential night of learning, sharing and asking any questions you need answered.
October 24 Addiction 411- How To Set Boundaries With Your Adult Child
Group for parents supporting their adult child active in their use. This group is for you if you’re losing sleep at night out of fear or worry about how your child will ever make it on their own. Learn the basics of setting healthy boundaries in an effort to take care of yourself while supporting your grown-up’s ability to take responsibility for themselves. Join us for a safe, confidential night of sharing and asking any questions you need answered.
November 20 Addiction 411- Living “On The Fence:” Why the Struggle IS REAL!
For anyone needing to talk about their hesitation to stop using. Safe, confidential, and open conversation about the various stages of recovery including the phase of Active Use. This group is for you if others have expressed concerns which have lead to confusion or tension with family and loved ones. Or, if you have ever wondered if you should stop but don’t know if you’re ready, then this event is for you. Info will be available for resources. No pressure, no obligations.
December 19 Addiction 411- Navigating The Holidays
For anyone Actively Using or in Early Recovery, this session will help cope with the stressors of the holidays. There are many triggers during this time of year such as family get togethers, missing people where bridges have been burned, and access to friends of the past. Learn how to cope with all of these stressors and more. Gain the support you need to get through the holidays this year. All are welcome to share in a safe, confidential setting.
