Why Did You Become A Therapist?

“I wanted to go into a helping profession, and I have always loved psychology. After I got my bachelor’s in psychology, I knew I wanted to go on to be a counselor. Counseling is the area where I could have the most impact to use my skills to help others. For years, I worked in community mental health before transitioning into private practice. I love being a therapist because it gives the opportunity to work with people and hear their stories and experiences. I work with people who are facing some of their most challenging times of their lives. It means a lot to get to be a part of them overcoming these challenges and reaching their goals.”

Who Is Your Ideal Client?

“My ideal clients are Moms who are struggling because navigating their new role has been a transition. My goal is to help them to be able to enjoy Motherhood. I also enjoy working with couples or individuals on their relationship struggles to help them come together in their partnership.”

What Is Your Favorite Motto To Share With Clients?

“Taking care of yourself first helps you to be a better partner, parent, friend, employee, etc. You cannot give to others if you are running on empty. This is especially true for Moms. I share this motto often to help Moms relieve any guilt they may experience about talking care of themselves. It also helps them from becoming overwhelmed and feeling burned out.”

What Do Your Credentials Stand For, And What Does It Mean?

“I am an LPC which stands for Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a Bachelors of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology and a Masters of Arts (MA) in Professional Counseling. Maternal Mental Health, Family Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are my specialties where I’ve received advanced training. These specializations allow me to help clients with a variety of issues including relationship problems, trauma, and parenthood.

For Fun: If You Could Be Any Animal In The World, What Would It Be And Why?

“I would be a tiger because they are strong, confident, and beautiful. (Not one of Carole Baskin’s tigers though😂).”
